Summary
Rate of Pay: Salary, Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Shift Schedule: 5/5/4

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • All other duties as may be assigned.
  • Review production schedules to ascertain data such as types, quantities, and specifications of mining supplies necessary and schedule delivery dates in order to meet department objectives;
  • Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences for mobile and mining equipment;
  • Prepare schedules and coordinate mining activities to ensure production and quality of product meets specifications;
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays;
  • Inspect equipment and workplaces to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization;
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards;
  • Interpret and communicate company policies to workers. Interpret specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties;
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product;
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase production efficiency;
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems;
  • Maintain time and production records; and
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Provincial certification as an Underground Mine Supervisor is required;
  • Basic Hard Rock Common Core.
  • Supervisory Common Core.
  • Minimum 7 years underground mining experience of which 2-3 years were in a supervisory capacity.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel).
