Summary
Shift Schedule: Full time - Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: Salary commensurate with qualificatons and experience

Kirkland Lake Gold has a shaft sinking project at its key asset Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake ON. The shaft will be a concrete lined shaft 21.5 foot diameter. Phase 1 will be to a depth of 5450 feet and include a mid shaft loading pocket with a completion date of 2022 and a budget of $240M. The second phase will extend the shaft to a depth of 7000 feet with an additional $80M budget and a completion of 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support for engineering department such as: daily project reporting, coordinating engineering department needs with operations, surveying, daily QA/QC on shaft activities.
  • Work with operations performing daily activities such as: Installing ground support, maintenance work on Galloway, performing concrete pours for cast in place liner, installation of tubbing, installing shaft services

Qualifications and Experience

  • The successful candidate will have 2 to 3 years experience in a shaft engineering and sinking and have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with the Contractors technical team.
  • Engineering designation required
