Rate of Pay Salary, Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provides instruction and guidance to site employees on the proper use of various equipment on UG.
  • Supports Mining training curriculum, training schedules and safe operating procedures.
  • Provides leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards in conjunction with the safety and environmental department.
  • Assess qualifications and on the job training of all new employees.
  • Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained.
  • Liaise with mine staff, safety and human resources staff and others.
  • Ensures employees are adequately assessed and training for their assigned work as well as updating training records.
  • Continues to identify new ways to improve training and ways to implement them.
  • Promotes OHSA and Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Integrated Management System (Document Control) consistent with KLG standards
  • Suggest & track policy updates, regulations, and safety standards issued annually by our Company.
  • Follows-up on safety related recommendation.
  • Complies with and evaluates training statistics.
  • Communicated all safety policies and procedures to other departments for consistency and ensures they meet company standards and legislated requirements.
  • Assist in investigations any incidents/accidents UG as requested
  • Support quality control of completion of inspections and Investigations
  • A Safety resource as required.
  • Other duties as requested from time to time

Qualifications

  • Minimum Post-Secondary Education OR Trade certification.
  • Train the Trainer required.
  • Minimum 10 years in job role or similar learning role.
  • A solid knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants is essential.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills in influencing, conflict management, training of personnel etc.
  • Must have strong and effective communication skills verbally and written.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results in terms of health and safety.
  • Must have strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft suite and EHS Software
  • Must be able to demonstrate integrity, honesty and respect in all situations.
