Salary, Commensurate with experience and qualifications

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for leading and maintaining safety as the primary driver and objective;
  • Develop and manage procedures relating to underground production geology;
  • Responsible for effective communication and training of geological procedures;
  • Responsible for geological QA/QC compliance;
  • Coordination of Geological activities to achieve department goals;
  • Mentoring team through identifying areas of continual improvement and assisting them to reach optimal performance;
  • Management of grade control through mapping, sampling, ore wireframing, and ore modelling;
  • Forecasting, monitoring, controlling and reporting on project financial performance.
  • Monitor actual costs against forecast and budgets to ensure cost control.
  • Attend meetings on time and be prepared with the required information to participate in group discussion;
  • Instigate meetings as required to ensure effective communicatio within and outside of the Technical Services Geology team;
  • Plan, monitor, control and report against project timelines and milestones (budget).
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly Mine Geology operations report;
  • Reconciliation of mine stopes to mill;
  • Assist in stope reconciliations comparing to geological models;
  • Contribution, design, supervision and implementation of drilling programs;
  • Follow QA/QC standards and best practices;
  • Reviewing and analyzing mining and Diamond drilling data for grade estimation and ore delineation using Data Mine/Fusion etc;
  • Lead from the front to ensure compliance with the companies Zero Harm safety conscious culture;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Maintain awareness and contribute ensuring compliance with NI 43-101 standards;
  • Coordinate and work with exploration team on mine exploration programs; and Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Geologist of Ontario (P.Geo.) or ability to register.
  • Sc. in Geology or Tertiary education in Geology.
  • Strong academic and applied background in structural geology.
  • Capacity to coach, guide, influence and develop others.
