RATE OF PAY: 

Salary, Commensurate with experience and qualifications

 

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in technical activities related to the ongoing development and production of the mine operation.
  • Produce mine development plans and stope layouts.
  • Ensure all design information is available for survey prints to be issued.
  • Develop mining plans in conjunction with other departments; such as maintenance, electrical, geology and underground, while following all acts and regulations under the OHSA and Regulation 854.
  • Lead conceptual meetings.
  • Stay current of activities within respective headings and remain up-to-date of production, development and drilling rates to accurately schedule and prioritize required work.
  • Reconcile stopes upon completion.
  • Paste cycle tracking – ensuring all plans and prints are available for paste filling stopes.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • B.Sc /B.Tech Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in an operating mine (Hard Rock Mining environment preferred).
  • Working knowledge of mine design software (AutoCAD, Promine, Deswik).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must meet physical requirements for frequent underground work site visits.
