Summary

Duties and Responsibilities of a Mid-Term Mine Planner include:

As a member of the engineering department, the Mid-Term Planner will report to the Senior Mine Planner and participate in technical activities related to the ongoing development and production of the mine operation.

  • Lead the schedule planning and manage design work required for the development and production of the underground mine. Accountable for the timely delivery of designs and their accuracy within the planning department.
  • Preparing medium term (3-12 month) schedules that aim to meet or exceed site objectives and support the long term mining plan. Identify contigency plans to overcome shortfalls in production and development. Ensure plan is appropriate for equipment and manpower levels, and that it does not exceed the ventilation or ore movement system constraints.
  • Examine existing designs to consider on a daily basis to ensure plan is being adhered to and to minimize disruptions. Complete regular variance reports and stope status reports.
  • Coordinating with the maintenance and operations planning groups to optomize the mining plan, ensure sufficient mill feed and minimize disruptions.

Requirements

  • Sc/B. Tech Degree in Mining Engineering or Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 year’s relevant mine planning experience in an operating mine ( “Hard Rock Mining Environment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of mine’s design software is (AuthoCAD, Promine, Deswik)
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Rate of Pay Salary, Commensurate with experience and qualifications
