Summary
Shift Schedule: 5-5-4
Rate of Pay: Salary commensurate with experience and qualificatons

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, interprets and coordinates our underground diamond drill ore definition and exploration programs;
  • Responsible for geological QA/QC compliance;
  • Coordination of Geological activities to achieve department goals;
  • Management of grade control through mapping, sampling, ore wireframing, and ore modelling;
  • Forecasting, monitoring, controlling and reporting on performance;
  • Creation and updating of short to long term geological models;
  • Provides ore outline/grade and tonnage profiles on individual work places and provides monthly stope grade forecasts;
  • Geologically interprets assay and diamond drill data using the appropriate resource and reserve method to estimate ore block tonnage and grade;
  • Coordinates daily activities with the Engineering/Survey and Mine Departments;
  • Geologically maps ore and waste development headings and coordinates/monitors the sampling of development headings;
  • Produces production and statistical reports, evaluates and defines mine ore reserve and maximizes the mine ore grade and our mining reserves;
  • Monitors our underground diamond drill definition and exploration programs including logging core; and
  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Registered Geologist in Training (GIT). Registered Professional Geologist of Ontario (P.Geo.).
  • B.Sc. in Geology or tertiary education in geology.
  • Strong academic and applied background in structural geology.
